I had my children taken away by my ex-wife, her lawyer and the courts in 2004.
4 months ago, they came back to live with me full time.
My daughter, who is now 15, saw my signed copy of Firefly and Serenity in my bookcase, and said she loves Firefly and we should watch it together... so we've been doing that for the last week while she has been home sick from school (suspected Swine Flu - Aiya Tienah!)
Anyhoo - came time to put Serenity into the DVD player... when I discovered she has never seen the MOVIE.
It was excellent to see someone who loves the series watch it for the first time... I had to keep biting my lip not to let slip the MASSIVE SPOILERS that were inevitable...
'Oh, thats right, Inara said she was leaving the ship, and maybe Book is just not in this scene...'

Re: Serenity Virgin
Fri, May 22, 2009 - 7:17 AMThat sounds so much fun! I know what you mean about battling to keep the spoilers to yourself.
I hope your daughter gets over her illness quickly, and that it isn't swine flu!

Tue, October 27, 2009 - 5:14 PMSo how did she like it?
When we watched things my dad already seen and knew what happens in, he just says, "Watch and find out."
When he sees something us kids had already seen before him, we tend to spoil it. How weird...
